CERV Grant Extension

On January 17, 2021, CERV awarded One Starfish a grant extension to increase access to emergency preparedness training. Please review our “Resources” page for available emergency preparedness content – tailored for people using their vehicles as their main source of shelter. Our training materials are made possible with this grant extension.

Hope Tadema receives CERV’s Outstanding Advocacy Award

Hope Tadema, a One Starfish Board Member and Special Programs & Grants Coordinator, is one of five recipients to win CERV’s Outstanding Advocacy Award for her work to improve the quality of print materials distributed to the community promoting emergency preparedness. Thank you Hope!

COVID-19 CFMC Grant Recipient

On April 30, 2020, One Starfish receives a COVID-19 Relief Fund grant paid from the COVID-19 Relief Fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County in the amount of $21,845.

CERV Grant Recipient

In March 2020, One Starfish receives a CERV grant in the amount of $17,700 to provide emergency preparedness training to program guests and support guest needs through the COVID-19 pandemic. 

MCDSS Community Action Partnership PPE Distribution

Throughout the pandemic, One Starfish has benefited from the Monterey County Department of Social Services program that distributes PPE to organizations in need through their Community Action Partnership.

Tia Fechter receives KSBW Jefferson Award

In June 2018, Tia Fechter was selected to represent the Central Coast as the KSBW Jefferson Award Recipient in the National Jefferson Award celebration in Washington D.C. for the One Starfish program.
